Riding at Gorman

My favorite place to go dirt bike riding is at a place called Gorman. It has rare scenery compared to the usual places we go. We usually go as to what we all describe as "somewhere off of the 395 in the middle of no where." Yep, that basically describes it. With dirt biking not being my favorite sport, I have learned to love it, and I do have a favorite place to go ride! Gorman is near hills and mountains that are full of beautiful flowers, trees, and wildlife. Just this last month some friends saw deer frolicking about. Gorman is an Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) area that is specifically designated for dirt bikes, quads, and jeeps. All the trails are marked. For those of you that have been skiing before it is like a ski resort. Each trail is marked with a green circle for easy, a blue diamond for difficult, and and a black diamond for expert. It is so nice to know what you are getting into...especially for a girl who has had to turn her bike around more than one time!

It has been awesome over the years to see Kendra and Drew grow into our camping we do each month and learn to find their things they love while out in the desert. Drew without a doubt loves to be on his little dirt bike with training wheels (a 50). There can be no one outside of their trailers but Drew will still want to be out there riding his bike no matter what the weather is. He also loves to have everyone in his trailer to play with his toys. If he sees other kids outside, it amazes me that he can be dressed in minutes compared to our usual struggle to get clothes on each morning, so he can play with the other kids. You can also find Drew riding our electric quad or Jeep. Both loved by all the kids in camp. Kendra also likes to ride in their Jeep. Her favorite part of camping is the fun toys we keep in the trailer. Someone made that suggestion to me a long time ago, to keep different toys in the trailer and every month it is like a party to play with their toys they haven't seen in 2-4 weeks. She also loves to play in the dirt with our outside toys on a nice day. Her idea of fun is getting in our friend's Ranger. It is like a golf cart but with suspension. She loves taking rides and going up and down small hills. She is always grinning ear to ear. I think she will stick to more of these types of adventures when we camp but we will see. For now she just enjoys the time we get to spend as a family and the time she gets to spend with her friends who she loves so much!
