Potty Training

While I was on the east coast my grandma, mom, and Dan made many wonderful attempts to get Kendra potty trained. I don't know why we haven't really done it. Part of it has just been me being lazy. I kept telling myself, next week, next week...well this is the week!

Dan woke up on Sunday (the day I was coming home) and put her in underwear. When he came to get me she was in underwear in the car with a change of clothes present just in case. This was a great start for me to continue with! We kept her in her underwear even to dinner at Wahoo's. Only 2 accidents all day with one success. I tried to think of something that would work with her to get her excited about going potty in the toilet. We bought a little toilet like her friend Josiah has so she was excited about that. The next thing that has helped us be successful is candy. She gets one for trying (I get her to try every hour) and two if she goes. She also gets a dance from her mommy if she goes...what a reward!! Yesterday was 2 accidents again with 2 success stories. I was thinking to myself, not bad for day number 2. Well today is day number 3 and we had no accidents and 3 success stories! We even have been to different places in the last couple of days (quick trips) and have just taken the little potty with us. I can see that she is starting to get it for today 2 out of the 3 success stories was her telling us she had to go pee!!

Who would have ever thought that going potty could be so exciting! I can't believe it has taken me this long to finally do this!

Yay, Kendra! I am so proud of you! That is awesome. . . Did you read Jen Gray's post on her blog on potty training this week? (you can link from my blog--babyjordangray) What a riot! I was laughing so hard!

Go Kendra! It is so funny that you and Jen are doing this the same week. What a battle, but you will be victorious!
