Both our kids have never really had anything that they were attached to as a little kid besides a bottle and their mommy :-) Kendra would only take milk in a bottle after being nursed and stopped using a bottle on her own a couple months later. Drew I knew was going to take a little longer so I decided I would try right after he turned 2. If it was going to be super hard I was going to wait until he was ready but he had no problem giving up the bottles. I just explained to him that his bottles were getting icky in the night from the heat and that we needed to just drink water out of a sippy. I told him he would get a special present for throwing away his bottles and before I could even finish explaining it to him...he was down stairs throwing away his bottles! The next day he was very excited to get a Bob The Builder sander and working goggles. What a big boy! One thing I have learned as a mom with my kids is that time is always their friend. There are certain time lines for kids where they have to be doing this or that by and my kids have never followed those. We have always done what makes them feel secure and loved and it works for us!

Drew has grown so much! I'm glad it was an easy transition.
YAY - one less thing for you to clean now!! :) Good job Drew!
What a big boy! You look too cute as BOB! I know Sawyer is going to have a hard time letting that one go when they day comes!!!
Just wanted to say a "way to go" for listening to your kiddos and being so in tune with what works for them. You're doing an awesome job!! :)
Yay for Drew!
And awesome BOB pictures!
Those goggles lasted all of two minutes in our house.
Yeah Drew! No more bottles. If only everything were this easy. Jess, thank you for reminding me that kids do not need to be on a timeline. Whatever works for them. And Drew is so handsome in his Bob outfit.
He is such a sweetie! I agree with you on the timelines. Potty training is a great example of that. It comes SO much more easily when they are READY. Carter might be 4, but . . . Just kidding--he's not even 2 and 1/2 yet.
